Remarks:
The Flagfins are found in the tropical and subtropical seas in the Atlantic, including the Mediterranean, and Pacific. These medium sized fishes have a slender and cylindrical body, robust head, large eyes, and a pointed, conical snout. Scales are present on most of head and body, and tail fin is deeply forked. The Aulopids can grow to maximum reported length of 30 – 45 cm.

This family comprises two genera, Aulopus and Hime, and about 10 species.
