Distribution:
Circumglobal, mostly tropical to warm temperate seas.

Habitat:
Most species inhabits along the continental and insular shelves to offshore.

Remarks:
Most species in the Myliobatidae family, also called eagle rays, have one or more venomous spines on tail. The eagle rays’ tail is much longer than their body. They have powerful jaws and crushing teeth. Their distinctive features include head elevated above disc, absent caudal fin, and small dorsal fin. Some are famous for their leaping ability high into the air.

This family contains three subfamilies, seven genera, and 37 species.
