Neritic epipelagic (0-200m)

About this Tag

This division of the epipelagic zone incorporates sunlit waters over the continental shelf, and includes the photic zone extending from the low tide mark to the edge of the continental shelf, at about 200 meters. These relatively shallow waters have generally well-oxygenated water, low water pressure, and relatively stable temperature and salinity levels. Fish that inhabit these waters are called neritic, coastal or inshore fish.
